Aerating
Annual lawn aeration at the beginning or end of the season relieves soil compaction and enhances overall grass growth.
It is recommended you aerate your lawn once a year.
Aerating your lawn annually will allow nutrients to become more efficient by penetrating built-up grass or lawn thatch. Thatch is a layer of organic matter that accumulates on a lawn around the base of the grass plants. Thatch is a combination of living and dead plant matter including crowns, stolons, rhizomes, and roots.
Aeration allows oxygen, water and fertilizer to penetrate grass roots by systematically perforating your yard’s soil breaking through the layers of thatch with an evenly distributed pattern of small holes.
This relieves soil compaction allowing roots to grow deeper, producing a stronger, more vigorous lawn, enabling it to better overcome stress caused by insects and disease.
Aeration is part of an all-encompassing lawn care plan required to achieve and maintain a beautiful lawn.
